Definition
A centralised toolkit for discovering every AI agent running across an organisation, seeing which tools and credentials each may use, and enforcing rules such as access limits and cost controls on all of them. It is emerging as the enterprise answer to the documented gap where human-focused security tools do not monitor what autonomous agents do.
Why it matters
Without a control plane, organisations cannot answer the basic questions regulators and auditors will ask: how many agents exist, what can they reach, and who is accountable when one acts badly.
