Privacy-preserving safety monitoring

A technique that lets an AI provider watch for patterns of misuse across many separate user interactions — to catch coordinated abuse — without permanently storing the actual content of those interactions. OpenAI's 'Private Safety Processing' is designed to do this while still honoring a customer's 'zero data retention' commitment.
It resolves a long-standing tension for security-sensitive enterprises between wanting strong AI safety monitoring and needing strict data-retention guarantees, potentially unlocking AI adoption in privacy-sensitive industries.
