AI Act intimate-image prohibition (Art. 5)

A provision of the EU AI Act that bans AI systems used to create or manipulate non-consensual intimate images (sometimes called 'nudifiers') and child-sexual-abuse material. It takes effect on 2 December 2026 across all EU member states at once, with no transition or grace period, making it one of the Act's highest-priority prohibited practices.
Companies building or deploying image-generation or companion AI must ensure their products cannot perform these functions before the hard deadline, or they face immediate EU-wide prohibition.
