Neuro-AI governance

An emerging area of policy addressing the intersection of AI and neurotechnology — such as brain-computer interfaces or systems that infer mental states — and how to protect people's cognitive privacy and autonomy from AI-driven analysis or manipulation. The EU's official ethics advisory body has called for a dedicated governance framework in this space.
As AI systems get better at inferring emotional and cognitive states from behavioral or biometric data, boards in health tech, HR analytics, and consumer products should expect new compliance obligations here well before most other AI rules mature.
