Agentic AI trust and identity standards (ITU FG-TIDA)

FG-TIDA is a new working group under the UN's International Telecommunication Union focused specifically on how autonomous AI agents should prove who they are, be trusted, and remain under human control — the first global standards effort of its kind for agentic AI. It aims to produce shared technical rules so AI agents from different vendors and countries can interact safely and verifiably.
As AI agents increasingly act autonomously across company and national boundaries, the lack of shared trust and identity standards is a governance gap that could leave organizations unable to verify which agents they're really dealing with.
