What happened
Microsoft published a detailed blog post on June 17, 2026 (codename MDASH — Multi-moDel Agentic Scanning Harness) describing its agentic vulnerability detection system integrated into real-world workflows across Windows, Azure, and identity systems. MDASH uses 100+ specialized AI agents working in concert, has achieved #1 on the CyberGym benchmark, and is in Limited Preview with early partners including IBM, Accenture, PwC, and AIM Intelligence. Microsoft has not announced a general availability date.
Why it matters
MDASH represents Microsoft's strategic answer to AWS Continuum and Google CodeMender — all three hyperscalers now have competing agentic vulnerability-hunting platforms. The CyberGym #1 benchmark result and the 206-vulnerability June Patch Tuesday (a record, partly attributed to AI-accelerated discovery) validate the real-world impact of this class of tool.
Applicability
Enterprises on Microsoft Azure and Windows ecosystems should engage Microsoft to join the Limited Preview. Security architects should track the MDASH→Defender integration roadmap as it signals where autonomous vuln remediation will land in Microsoft's stack.
