What happened
At the Quad Foreign Ministers' meeting in Atlanta on 31 October 2026, the US, Australia, India and Japan issued a joint statement highlighting the importance of Super Intelligence (SI) and initiatives like Pax Silica, and expressed intent to provide over $85 million of technical and financial assistance to support access to trusted SI across the Indo-Pacific, including through the Quad SI Accelerator. They also condemned transnational online/cyber scam operations and committed to dismantling them.
Why it matters
A concrete, government-funded multilateral push to shape trusted/frontier-AI deployment, standards and access across the Indo-Pacific, formalising SI as a Quad economic-security pillar and channelling public money toward secure AI capacity in partner economies.
Action needed
Vendors/labs targeting Indo-Pacific trusted-SI programmes should track the Quad SI Accelerator for eligibility and trust/security requirements.
