Singapore MDDI/IMDA exploring DNS-based AI-agent identity verification and possible national registry

In response to an adjournment motion by MP Tin Pei Ling on 4 November 2026, Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Jasmin Lau told Parliament that IMDA is working with GoDaddy, Infoblox, Cloudflare and Google to explore adapting the domain name system to identify and verify AI agents across platforms, and to assess whether additional common infrastructure, including a national registry, is needed. GovTech is building an internal registry for public agencies to track the agents they deploy and the officers responsible.
Signals Singapore's emerging state position on agentic-AI identity, authority and accountability - a likely precursor to a national AI-agent registry/traceability infrastructure and possible standards. It shows government consideration of registration for autonomous agents as their autonomy grows.
Monitor IMDA/MDDI for any formal registry or standards proposals; prepare agent identity and authorisation documentation in case a verification regime is introduced.
