What happened
On Oct 27 FireMon announced FireMon Agentic AI, adding agents as first-class citizens in its network security management platform: an Intelligent Agent that builds and runs SiQL queries, a Network Designer Agent that turns access requirements into firewall policy recommendations, and a Policy Change Designer Agent that carries an access request through discovery-to-policy-plan changes, pausing for practitioner judgement. It also exposes a FireMon MCP Server so external agentic workflows can retrieve policy data and stage changes; AI enablement is optional and off by default with an audit trail.
Why it matters
It applies agents to the backlog-heavy, multi-device work of network access/policy changes rather than just alert triage, and ships a vendor-native MCP server so other AI workflows can consume policy intelligence with role-scoped credentials. It represents a security-platform vendor operationalizing agentic work with a hard human-in-the-loop gate.
Applicability
Network security policy and infrastructure teams with firewall/Segmentation estates should pilot the supplied agents for access-request and policy-change workflows before customizing or wiring MCP integration.
