ANSI launches the ANSI AI Register — provenance-visible directory of AI/SI trust, assurance and conformity claims

GuidelinesMedium impactGlobal
On 22 October 2026, the American National Standards Institute introduced the ANSI AI Register, a new platform to improve transparency, trust, safety and discovery across the AI and super-intelligence ecosystem. It is a single place to find and understand AI-related standards, qualifications, assessments, certifications, attestations, declarations and other trust-related information, and will surface three kinds of evidence: first-party declarations (an organization's own governance/safety/security/risk claims), second-party attestations (customer/supplier evaluations) and third-party assessments or certifications. The Cyber Engagement Forum (CyberEF) will help build the platform; listing does not constitute certification, accreditation or endorsement by ANSI, and application eligibility criteria are to be published before launch.
In an assurance landscape crowded with ISO/IEC 42001/42006, EN 18286 and EU AI Act conformance claims, and with buyers/regulators/investors struggling to sort trusted information, ANSI's register provides provenance visibility into who is making each AI security/governance claim and what it rests on. This has use for vendor due diligence, procurement and AI-assurance verification.
Track the upcoming eligibility criteria for register listing; organizations seeking visibility of their AI security/governance assurance should prepare documentation and consider participation once criteria are published.
