What happened
On Oct 27, 2026 Cato Networks launched Cato AI Endpoint, a new endpoint client that discovers AI use, inspects prompts and responses inline, and enforces AI policies across browsers, desktop applications, and local agents. It routes only AI traffic to Cato and works alongside existing SSE, VPN, and EDR investments.
Why it matters
AI usage is moving into desktop apps, coding agents, and local agent runtimes that browser-only controls can't see; this gives a converged network-security vendor a host-level, policy-inline layer to close that shadow-AI and agent blind spot without replacing the existing stack.
Applicability
Enterprise security teams already on Cato's SASE platform should evaluate it for shadow-AI discovery and AI data-loss enforcement; others considering endpoint AI security should compare it against browser-extension-only approaches.
