What happened
On Oct 21, SUSE announced new capabilities in SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA that integrate the NVIDIA OpenShell Reference Architecture (Vera Rubin + Vera CPUs + BlueField-4 DPUs with NVIDIA Sentry) and ship SLES for NVIDIA. Promoted capabilities include supervisor proxies that inspect agent traffic and block unauthorized requests, and data-sovereignty policies restricting IP/dataset egress outside private infrastructure.
Why it matters
Extends the OpenShell in-silicon agent-governance model into a sovereign, on-prem/open-infrastructure distribution, giving enterprises a 'private AI + agent security' bundle with hardware-level enforcement. It broadens OpenShell adoption among sovereign and regulated deployments.
Applicability
Regulated and sovereign-AI buyers (public sector, finance) using SUSE/on-prem NVIDIA stacks should evaluate SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA for agent execution containment and IP egress control.
