What happened
Scytale launched Scytale MCP, an MCP server exposing compliance data (frameworks, audits, controls, monitoring, policies, risks, tasks, vendors) as read-only tools to any MCP-compliant client (Claude, ChatGPT, internal agents). Each connection authenticates via OAuth scoped to a single company, is read-only to start, is fully audit-logged, and is hosted per region; a scoped write capability for evidence upload is planned.
Why it matters
It demonstrates the agentic-access-to-sensitive-data pattern done with guardrails — scoped, read-only, audit-logged MCP access — so AI tools can answer compliance questions without bypassing access controls. Relevant for GRC teams wanting AI-native compliance workflows.
Applicability
Scytale customers and compliance/audit teams exploring AI-driven GRC should evaluate Scytale MCP; worthwhile reference design for scoped MCP data access.
