Arctic Wolf introduces Shadow AI Discovery in Aurora Superintelligence Platform

SolutionsMedium impactGlobal
At its Oct 14 Security Operations Summit, Arctic Wolf announced Shadow AI Discovery, a new Aurora feature that inventories sanctioned and unknown AI tools across network, identity and endpoint telemetry, classifying each as sanctioned/unknown and highlighting data-exposure risk without additional deployments. It is soon to be available to Aurora MDR customers, alongside expanded Aurora Security Assistant skills and new WAF (Cloudflare/Imperva), Veeam, and healthcare integrations.
98% of orgs have experienced unsanctioned AI use and 63% of practitioners lack visibility into where AI models are used — organizations cannot secure what they cannot see. This adds native shadow-AI inventory and risk classification to an established MDR platform, distinct from the Adaptive Threat Protection and SwarmView capabilities announced at the same event.
Aurora MDR customers and MSSPs should adopt Shadow AI Discovery to inventory unsanctioned AI and drive AI-governance policy; organizations without an MDR AI-inventory capability should evaluate it.
