What happened
On Oct 15, Snyk announced Evo Agentic AppSec, a suite of security agents (Security Review Agent, Code Scanning Agent, Secrets, Remediation Agent, Dependency Firewall, and Continuous Offensive Security) that assess threats/controls, find business-logic and authz flaws, block malicious packages at install, and fix backlog issues with independent deterministic verification. Snyk cites ~8 new vulns introduced for every one remediated and 10x growth in critical/high findings across its customers.
Why it matters
Coding agents now generate code faster than security teams can review, and pattern scanners miss business-logic/authz flaws. Evo bundles prevention, detection, remediation and verification into an agent-run program with human-owned policy — a direct answer to AI-driven development outpacing AppSec. Snyk claims a 90% mergeable-fix rate in its VulnBump benchmark vs 59.6% without its context.
Applicability
AppSec and DevSecOps teams using Snyk (or evaluating agentic AppSec) should evaluate the Evo agents, especially the Dependency Firewall and Security Review Agent, for agentic development pipelines.
