What happened
On Oct 14 Radware announced MCP Server Protection, joining its Agentic AI Protection and LLM Firewall: gives MCP attack-surface visibility, MCP-aware protection (protocol abuse, auth attacks, tool/resource enumeration, AI-driven tool flooding, DoS), governance/exposure assessment, and agent activity monitoring. Deploys as cloud service (Cloud Application Protection Service) or cloud-augmented on-prem (Alteon/DefensePro).
Why it matters
MCP is becoming the standard agent-to-enterprise layer (nearly half of software companies run MCP in production per Stacklok), and traditional WAF/DDoS controls don't understand it. This is one of the first major network security vendors to productize MCP-server-specific protection — directly addressing a fast-growing new attack surface in the agentic AI stack.
Applicability
Organizations deploying MCP servers in production (cloud, K8s, or on-prem) should evaluate MCP Server Protection for visibility/governance and protocol-aware attack blocking; enterprise network security teams adopting MCP gateways should add MCP-aware controls.
