IETF draft: AI Agents 6G System and RAN Requirements and Implementation Approaches (draft-sarischo-6gip-aiagent-requirements-01)

On 11 October 2026 the individual Internet-Draft 'AI Agents 6G System and RAN Requirements and Implementation Approaches' (draft-sarischo-6gip-aiagent-requirements-01, B. Sarikaya / R. Schott, Deutsche Telekom) was updated. The draft presents system and radio-access-network (RAN) requirements for 3GPP AI/ML and AI agents for 6G, covering agent types and application areas, agent discovery via DNS, inter/intra-domain agent communication, and includes authentication and authorisation for AI agents within its security considerations.
It is early standardization work on how AI agents will be secured and authenticated in future 6G networks, including agent identity and authentication — a forward-looking input to telecom AI-agent security standards.
Telecom and network-security standards-watchers should track it as 6G agent-security requirements mature; no immediate compliance action.
