What happened
On Oct 6 AppViewX added capabilities to Agent Identity Security: discovery of browser-based and short-lived script shadow agents extended into an AI Bill of Materials (now including agent skills), a new MCP Gateway governing sanctioned and shadow MCP servers with JIT access, an event-triggered Agent Kill Switch (via Shared Signals Framework, on-demand or policy), quantum-resilient PKI-issued agent identities, and AI token-cost/compliance reporting mapped to OWASP Agentic Top 10, MITRE ATLAS and NIST SP 800-53.
Why it matters
Adds a kill-switch that works without an MCP gateway and covers shadow agents — a differentiator in the crowded agent-identity space; also addresses post-quantum trust for agent credentials, a novel angle.
Applicability
Enterprise security teams deploying coding, SaaS and custom agents; compare MCP-gateway-independent kill switch and SSF integration against SailPoint/Okta/Aembit when selecting agent identity tooling.
