Palo Alto Networks extends Prisma AIRS to NVIDIA stack — AI Runtime Security GA on BlueField DPU

SolutionsMedium impactGlobal
On Sept 28, 2026 Palo Alto Networks detailed its expansion with NVIDIA's Open Agent Safety Platform: Prisma AIRS AI Runtime Security firewall now runs natively (GA) on NVIDIA BlueField DPUs as a tamper-proof, out-of-band enforcement boundary for AI-factory/edge traffic (using DOCA Argus agentless behavioral introspection feeding Cortex XSIAM), plus forward-looking AI Gateway on Vera CPUs and planned IDIRA agent identity integration with OpenShell.
Puts runtime AI-agent enforcement inside the AI-factory hardware path rather than a separate appliance, targeting the gap where an LLM does not sit in a traditional enforcement point; establishes PANW as the security control layer for enterprise agentic-AI data centers as BlueField-4 adoption grows.
Enterprises running agentic workloads on NVIDIA Vera Rubin/BlueField infrastructure should evaluate the GA AI Runtime Security integration on BlueField; identity/gateway pieces are forward-looking.
