What happened
Salesforce previewed (ahead of Dreamforce, week of Sept 8-11, 2026) a composable 'Trusted Enterprise AI Harness' spanning six capabilities (context, agency, action, security, evaluation, cost) plus a central AI Control Plane that registers agents, assigns identities/policies, manages lifecycle, and observes behavior — including for third-party agents via MCP/APIs/Skills/Plug-ins. Customer availability is targeted for early 2027; pricing/packaging undisclosed.
Why it matters
This positions Salesforce alongside Microsoft Agent 365 and AWS Bedrock AgentCore as a major vendor building a cross-platform agent governance/identity layer, addressing the reality that 85% of enterprises already run 3+ agent-orchestration platforms (VentureBeat survey) with no unified control plane for permissions, audit, or cost across them.
Applicability
Enterprise security/platform architects standardizing on multi-vendor agent stacks should track this control-plane approach now, even though GA is ~5 months out.
