What happened
Akamai announced (Sept 10) an expanded integration between Akamai API Security and Salesforce MuleSoft's Agent Fabric, providing two-way sync of API specs/environment data with runtime traffic analysis to surface undocumented APIs, agents, and MCP servers; vendors report 20+ joint customers currently using it.
Why it matters
Reconciling live traffic against approved API/MCP/agent inventories closes a real shadow-AI/shadow-API visibility gap as enterprises scale Agentforce and other agentic deployments, though the integration is a narrower feature add than the press framing suggests.
