Palo Alto Networks acquires Console to add agentic natural-language remediation workflows to Cortex

Palo Alto Networks announced (Sept 1, 2026) it acquired Console, an AI-native platform that lets security teams express operational goals in natural language which the platform then converts into investigation, prioritization, and remediation workflows, to be integrated into Cortex. Deal terms undisclosed; company explicitly cautions unreleased/planned features may not ship as described.

Signals continued consolidation of agentic SOC automation into major XDR/SecOps platforms (following CyberArk and Chronosphere deals), pushing toward autonomous alert-to-remediation workflows industry-wide.
