What happened
Jamf announced (Aug 20, 2026) general availability in Australia/New Zealand of AI Governance within Jamf for Mac, discovering shadow AI (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, OpenAI Codex at launch), enforcing pre-login policy on model access/network/MCP servers, and integrating with Okta for AI Agents for identity-scoped, short-lived credentials.
Why it matters
First native, offline-capable, OS-level AI governance control plane for Mac endpoints, closing a visibility gap that cloud/network-based AI security tools cannot see (local CLI agents, background processes on Apple Silicon).
Applicability
Enterprises with managed Mac fleets and heavy developer AI-tool usage (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) should evaluate for endpoint-level shadow-AI discovery and MCP server restriction; currently GA only in ANZ.
