Netwrix extends identity security to AI agent identities in Microsoft Entra ID

Netwrix announced (Aug 18, 2026) GA of Netwrix PingCastle 4.0 (Entra ID coverage expanded to 102 risk checks) and Netwrix Threat Manager 3.3, which adds inventory/visibility into AI agent identities and their access in Entra ID, plus new Azure Files threat detection; agent-specific threat detection is planned for a follow-up release.

Addresses the non-human-identity governance gap for AI agents — Netwrix's own research found a 43% breach rate at organizations where AI significantly expanded identities needing access vs. 11% elsewhere — extending established AD/identity tooling into agentic AI inventory.

Enterprises running Microsoft Entra ID with AI agents (Copilot, custom agents) should evaluate PingCastle 4.0/Threat Manager 3.3 for agent identity visibility now; full agent threat detection to follow.
