What happened
On Aug 11, 2026, AWS and OpenAI made Daybreak Red (GPT-5.6 Cyber, for vulnerability research/exploit reproduction) and Daybreak Blue (vulnerability discovery, detection engineering, IR) available to eligible enrolled customers directly through Amazon Bedrock, one day after the Daybreak Blue/Red tier split was announced.
Why it matters
Moves OpenAI's specialized cyber-defense models from a standalone access program into a major cloud platform's governance perimeter, letting AWS-native security teams point cyber models at their own codebases under existing IAM/compliance controls rather than a separate vendor relationship — materially expanding distribution reach.
