What happened
AWS announced (Aug 5, 2026) partnerships with Anthropic and OpenAI extending AWS Continuum (currently in preview) for code-vulnerability detection directly into developer workflows inside Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and AWS Kiro, letting AI coding agents discover, prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities with environment context as code is written.
Why it matters
Embeds security scanning directly into the AI-coding-agent loop across two major model providers, addressing the 'shadow infrastructure' governance gap created when developers use AI coding tools outside existing AppSec pipelines.
Applicability
AppSec and platform engineering teams standardizing on Claude Code/Codex/Kiro should enable Continuum integration ahead of broader GA.
