NVIDIA garak v0.16.0 adds technique/intent annotation and IntentProbe

NVIDIA's garak LLM vulnerability scanner released v0.16.0 (Aug 4, 2026), introducing technique-and-intent annotation for probes and an initial IntentProbe implementation, decoupling attack technique from elicited failure mode to allow more granular recombination of red-team probes.

Incremental but architecturally meaningful OSS improvement to one of the most widely used LLM red-teaming tools, improving probe composability for security researchers building custom test suites.

AI red-teaming and eval engineers using garak should upgrade to leverage the new probe taxonomy.
