What happened
ESET announced (Aug 3, 2026, at Black Hat) new AI-security capabilities across ESET PROTECT — extending threat protection to AI agents, agent behaviors, and shadow-AI/skill discovery — with general availability slated for September 30, 2026.
Why it matters
Established endpoint vendor embedding native AI-agent/shadow-AI controls directly into its core platform rather than via a bolt-on, broadening AI-agent security reach to its existing endpoint customer base once GA.
Applicability
ESET PROTECT customers; capability not yet GA (targeted Sept 30, 2026), so evaluate ahead of rollout.
