What happened
Morphisec announced (July 29, 2026) general availability of AI Usage Control, a module extending its in-memory endpoint prevention agent to discover and govern AI tools, autonomous agents, and machine identities across Windows/Linux/macOS endpoints without prompt inspection, mapped to the AIUC-1 ("SOC 2 for AI agents") standard in the CSA STAR registry.
Why it matters
Extends AI governance to the endpoint layer via an existing installed agent (no new deployment), differentiating from network/gateway-centric AI security approaches and giving customers a lower-friction path to shadow-AI visibility.
Applicability
Existing Morphisec Protector customers can enable AIUC immediately; endpoint security teams evaluating shadow-AI discovery should consider as an alternative to gateway-based approaches.
