What happened
NVIDIA and 36 partners (Microsoft, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, Hugging Face, IBM, Red Hat, Cloudflare, Linux Foundation, etc.) launched the Open Secure AI Alliance on July 27, 2026, an industry coalition building an open defense stack for AI agents (identity, isolation, model formats, scanning, secure coding), and released NOOA (NVIDIA Labs Object-Oriented Agent), an Apache 2.0 framework for testing, tracing, and auditing agent behavior.
Why it matters
A broad, credible multi-vendor coalition signals convergence toward shared open standards for agent security just as agentic AI attack incidents (Hermes, Hugging Face breach) escalate; NOOA gives harness builders a concrete open governance primitive.
Applicability
AI platform/agent-framework builders and security architects standardizing on open agent-governance tooling should evaluate NOOA and track Alliance deliverables ahead of Black Hat 2026.
