What happened
Anthropic released (week of July 20-23, 2026) a Claude Security plugin for Claude Code in beta — a terminal-native, multi-agent vulnerability scanner (inventory, threat-model, research, sweep, adversarial-panel phases) that scans commits/PRs/full codebases and generates patch files, installable via the official Anthropic plugin marketplace.
Why it matters
Moves Anthropic's AI-powered vulnerability-scanning capability (previously a separate web product) directly into the developer's terminal workflow, lowering friction for AI-native SAST-replacement adoption inside existing Claude Code sessions.
Applicability
Engineering/AppSec teams already using Claude Code should trial the plugin now for pre-commit scanning; broader enterprise rollout pending GA.
