What happened
AWS published guidance (July 7, 2026) on using Bedrock Projects combined with service control policies to centrally enforce zero data retention across an organization, addressing new third-party data-sharing requirements introduced by models like Claude Fable 5.
Why it matters
As frontier models increasingly require provider-side data sharing, enterprises need org-wide guardrails to prevent silent opt-in to retention; this gives AWS customers a policy-level (not just per-call) enforcement mechanism.
Applicability
AWS enterprise customers running regulated workloads on Bedrock should adopt SCP-based enforcement now, especially before enabling newer models with mandatory data-sharing requirements.
